Google Calendar Gets Offline Support
If you’re commuting or having a poor internet connection frequently, you must be troubled by services that require you to go online. The struggle is real for many, as unstable internet connections can be daunting in work times, and skipping deadlines can cost us very deeply. Thus, to be helpful in scheduling at least, Google has announced offline support for its Calendar web app for commercial users like Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus, as well as G Suite Basic, Business, Education, Enterprise for Education, and Nonprofits customers.
If you’re an admin of your network, you can see the feature activated by default from your end. And if wanted to change, go to the admin console and Workspace > Calendar > Settings for Calendar > Advanced Settings > Calendar web offline and uncheck “Allow using Calendar on the web when offline”. And if you’re an end-user in the network with a dedicated computer, you should enable this manually since it’s off by default. For this, go to settings and calendar offline options to activate. It’s recommended to visit Help Center to learn more about it. This offline support starts rolling out to admins starting today and will show up by this month’s end. And for users, it starts rolling out from January 25th onwards for Rapid Release Domains and from February 1st onwards for Scheduled Release Domains.
