Oppo A15 Design and Display

At 175 grams heft and 7.9mm thickness, the Oppo A15 sits comfortably in my hands. The 3D curved edges and a smooth dorsal makes it a pleasure to carry around. Oppo has used “NCVM vacuum coating” to give the plastic build a metallic finish. The glossy surface thus created is splashy when it’s clean and smudgy otherwise. The back is home to the phone’s triple cameras and an ever so reliable fingerprint reader. The colors are vibrant with the level of contrast you could expect out of an LCD panel in the range. The volume and power buttons on the right are tactile enough. There is a 2+1 card slot on the left. By the bottom, you’ve got a 3.5mm jack, a mic, micro-USB port, and a fairly audible speaker.

Oppo A15 Internals

Inside, the A15 houses a MediaTek Helio P35 processor, roomed with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (further expandable up to 256GB). The configuration is elementary and I could sense this in my brief interaction. But since I haven’t used it much, I reserve my final judgment. The device boots on Android 10 based ColorOS 7.2. It comes with a drawer filled with apps, some of which you might find obtrusive. But there are things that you may appreciate. See, there is a Super Power Saving mode that should come in handy if the 4,230mAh battery dips low. Similarly, there are a lot of goodies like Dark Mode, Smart Sidebar, 3-finger Scrolling Screenshot, Music Party, Game Space, etc.

Oppo A15 Cameras

Coming to the cameras, there is a main 13MP shooter at the back, aided by a 2MP depth (for bokeh) and a 2MP lens (for close-ups). The front photos are handled by a 5MP snapper. Oppo A15 First Impressions

The A15 is familiarly Oppo design-wise and strictly fundamental specs-wise. It has got a glossy glam body that feels good to wield in hand. The ColorOS software has several tricks up its sleeves. Both display and audio warrant a decent media consumption if you look past the HD-only resolution. This is because we have options with full HD in the ring. You see it stands amid budget challengers like Poco M2, Realme C15, Redmi 9 Prime, and Redmi Note 9. Even things like the 13MP sensor beg comparison. So, in the final review, we will see whether the cameras and general performance of the A15 are worth the ₹10,990 sticker price.
